Biographies

 
Massimo Monti
  • Mr. Monti has over 20 years experience in the Investment Business and has provided exceptional leadership and management skills throughout his career. He became a Partner of Rasini & C. SA in 1993. Before joining Rasini, he was managing industrial and commercial companies (for Arner S.A.Lugano the L.B.O. of Re.Ca. and Yamaha Italy) as Chief Executive Officer and/or Chairman of the Board from 1987 to 1993. Prior to that, he was the Portfolio Manager/Equity Analyst for Banca del Ceresio for 5 years and has also worked as an Account Officer within Corporate Finance at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust.
  • Mr. Monti has an MBA in International Business and Finance from the University New Hampshire. He has also published the first Italian book on Hedge Funds in 1995 and has written many articles on hedge funds for various papers including for the monthly publication of AIAF (the Italian Financial Analysts Association).
 
Karim Leguel
  • Karim Leguel is responsible for the Fund of Funds Advisory and the Research Team and is instrumental in driving the strategic initiatives of the Company in determining which direction the company should take to best suit its clients. He joined Rasini & C. in 1997 as a Research Associate in hedge funds covering both qualitative and quantitative analyses. Prior to joining Rasini & C., Mr. Leguel was an Account Manager at BSI from 1995 to 1997 (a subsidiary of Swiss Bank Corp. with over Sfr 30bn under management) where he managed Private Banking Client accounts in equity, bond and currency allocations. In addition to being an Account Manager, he also worked in the Asset Allocation Group.
  • Mr. Leguel received his MBA from Bocconi Business School and a BSc in Business Economics from London University. Mr. Leguel has also featured as a speaker at a number of hedge fund conferences and has written many articles on hedge funds for various specialized papers.
 
Martino Orombelli
  • Martino Orombelli joined Rasini & C. in 1997 as a Director and is responsible for Business Development and Marketing Operations. He is equipped with over 20 years experience under his belt from various financial institutions and cultures. Prior to joining Rasini & C., he was a Treasurer for American Express in Milan and Paris from 1994 to 1996. He was also employed in a similar capacity with Societe' Generale in Milan and Banque Indosuez in Paris within their Corporate Finance and Asset Management teams.
  • Mr. Orombelli graduated from Columbia University, New York, N.Y. with an M.B.A. and from Bocconi University in Milan with a degree in Economics.
 
Francesco Andina
  • Francesco Andina has worked in the field of global asset management and private banking since 1973. With his diverse experience and knowledge of global financial markets, as well as his understanding of tax and estate considerations, Francesco has guided many private clients and institutions in structuring and managing their assets. From 1989 to 1991 he managed the multi-billion dollar private banking division of Bank Vontobel in Zurich. In the course of his career, Francesco has opened and expanded branch offices in New York for Bank Julius Baer and BIL Management Inc., a subsidiary of Bank in Liechtenstein. He is a cofounder (1992) of Fairway Investment Partners. In addition to being active in the areas of fund research and management, he has also been involved in corporate development.
  • Francesco has a law degree from the University of Bern (1973).
 
Charles Abrecht
  • Charles Abrecht has held key positions in international financial institutions since 1979. His professional background includes international asset allocation and money management, global corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions work at First Boston and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in New York and at Les Fils Dreyfus & Cie in Basel. Thanks to his expertise in international capital and financial markets, Charles has advised clients on investment strategies, international corporate finance and M&A transactions. He is a cofounder (1992) of Fairway Investment Partners and has been instrumental in conducting the hedge fund research and the fund of funds management for the Fairway Group since its beginning.
  • Charles has an MBA from Harvard Business School (1983) and an economics degree from the University of Basel (1979).
